Position Type: AuxiliaryDepartment: Community SportNumber of Positions Available: MultipleThe Richmond Olympic Oval is seeking a passionate individual with a love of skating and a sound coaching background. This position is focused on helping individuals Ages 3 to 12 develop fundamental skating skills in a fun and safe environment. This position is specific to Winter Programs , with the possibly for assisting with additional seasonal programs.Your core responsibilities include,Communicate with parents and provide students with feedbackEnsure general program readiness including equipment lists, lesson plans, games and activities for a range of abilitiesImplement a variety of techniques for students to develop basic fundamental skating skillsResponsible for the safety and progressive instruction of Learn to Skate programs based on the objectives of the specific programs as well as Long Term Athlete Development Model/Sport for LifeCommunicate effectively with the Sport Programmer regarding program needs and improvementsEvaluate athlete abilities and maintain records of the skills of skatersCompliant with program policies and procedures (attendance, report cards, radios, first aid, etc)The qualifications and skills you bring to this role include,A love of children!Exceptional customer service interactionsBackground and knowledge in skating is required.
