Job Description

Job SummaryUnder the leadership of the Manager, the incumbent is responsible for executing the Electrical Maintenance activities and Electrical Capital Program Projects activities to ensure system integrity, technical configuration, service restoration and performance of preventative and corrective maintenance for assigned complex electrical equipment and systems used in the provision of Air Navigation Services to aircraft (i.e., IPU, UPS and electrical distribution).The Electrical Infrastructure Specialist position is responsible for the technical planning, design development, implementation, scheduling, cost control, closeout, and handover of electrical projects for the construction, expansion, and renovation of NAV CANADA’s electrical systems and equipment.The proper maintenance of NAV CANADA’s electrical equipment and systems is a key activity in ensuring continuing ANS service availability to the flying public.Job DescriptionKey Accountabilities: · Execute the electrical maintenance services on all major equipment and systems (IPU, UPS and Electrical distribution) at ACCs, Towers, and NAVIADs as per established schedules, procedures, and guideline.· Provides on-site coordination of construction activities acting as liaison between NAV CANADA, contractors, local airport authorities, and external customers.· Ensure work is executed in compliance with contract documents, Federal, provincial, and municipal regulations, and NC policy and procedures· ensure optimum effectiveness of operation of equipment for the designated area of responsibility.· Responds to corrective maintenance issues by investigating system problems, developing solutions, providing 2nd level technical support, reconfiguring systems, and rectifying deficiencies in real time operations.Job RequirementsEducation: · Electrical trade certification at the Journeyman level with minimum 5 years continuous experience OR 10 years of field experienceExperience:

  • Extensive training and experience in the troubleshooting and maintenance of UPS, IPUs and electrical distribution systems.
  • Experience in interpreting complex engineering drawings and specifications
  • Experience coordinating multiple trades on a job site
  • Experience monitoring construction progress to scope, schedule and budget and reporting progress
  • Experience dealing with regulating bodies on a job site (i.e. inspectors, workers comp)
Knowledge: · Knowledge of CMMS systems and how to input, analyze, schedule, and execute upon asset information.
  • Knowledge of project management software to input, analyze, schedule, and execute upon maintenance.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting systems to aid the FIR Construction Manager and Manager of Facilities Maintenance with inputs and updates when requested.
  • Knowledge of ERP reporting systems to aid the Manager of Facilities Manager with inputs and updates when requested
  • Thorough knowledge of building electrical distribution systems
  • Thorough knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and other regulatory requirements
Abilities:
  • Ability to concentrate when inspecting, analyzing, and troubleshooting UPS equipment.
  • Ability to monitor, inspect and research to ensure statement of work is completed as per NC requirements.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to use sight, smell, hearing and touch when inspecting or repairing electrical equipment.
Personal Suitability:
  • Attention to detail within the SOW and for on-site workmanship
  • Communications with difficult contractors, meeting strict contract deadlines, HIRAs
  • Fatigue management due to frequent travel, remote working environment, and hours of work.
Working conditions:
  • Climbing, walking, bending, and stretching are required to reach various areas of the equipment
  • Record logging, data entry, Maximo manipulation involves extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and focusing on a computer screen.
  • Periodic heavy lifting is required when receiving shipments of materials, equipment, and goods for maintenance and projects. Includes strenuous activities including lifting of batteries approximately 100 pounds and pulling battery trays approx. 400 pounds
  • Work in tight spaces for equipment maintenance.
  • Long hours travelling
  • This position is based in office but may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement.
Job Type: Full-timeSalary: $84,265.00-$105,330.00 per yearSchedule:
  • Monday to Friday
