Full-Time Ranch Hand/Labourer7- Livestock is a ranching operation located 5kms South of Rockglen, SK.We consist of a cow/calf operation that calves on pasture, small backgrounding operation as well as we seed & harvest all our own feed & crops.Seeking: 1 - Full-Time Ranch Hand/LabourerInterested Candidate Must have the following:-Class 5 Drivers License, own vehicle to get to/from work.-Clean criminal record check-Reliable, on time & efficient with their time-Able to work with others & independently-Calving Knowledge or experience an asset-Cattle Handling experience required-Strong Knowledge of herd health protocols, treatments & diseases for our cow/calf & backgrounding operations.-Basic knowledge & ability to safely operate equipment (ex// tractor, bale shredder, ATVs, truck/horse trailer, mix wagon, baler, swather or willing to learn)-Horses are not required (horse boarding not provided)-Maintenance of fences, corrals, & water systems.-Majority of work is outdoors, year-round in all types of weather*Can assist with helping locate housing (Town of Rockglen is 5kms away)Compensation: Wage will depend on experience, skill set & duration employed with us.Approximate Wage $20-25/hr to start, based on the above, willing to pay more for the right person.6-month probationary period-$1/hr rate increase after & $1/hr rate increase after 1 year.Plus, additional bonuses (½ Beef)Summary of Tasks: Cow/Calf Operation:

• Move Cows throughout pastures (April- December)
• Maintain & repair fences when needed. (Barbwire & electric)
• Check waterers, put out mineral when needed
• Routine checks on cows during calving (May-July)
• Maintain Herd health & records
• Vaccinate & Brand Calves
• Turn out & Pull Bulls at appropriate times
• Assist with weaning calves (November – December)
• Round up & Preg Checking cows
• Winter Feeding of Cows- (Swath Grazing, feeding)

Backgrounding Operation:

• Receive weaned calves
• Process, tag & vaccinated calves
• Bed Pens with straw
• Daily feeding- mixed ration
• Check waterers daily
• Maintain corrals & wind slabs
• Herd health management & record keeping
• Assist with Pen Checking
• Treatments when necessary

Feed & Crops:

• Assist with Swathing, Baling & stacking Hay, Green feed & Straw Bales
• Poisoning gophers & refilling bait traps
