Join a team that empowers you to live up to your potential so that you can feel part of something bigger and make a difference in the lives of others.The OpportunityEmployment Type: Temporary Part Time 0.6 FTE August 2022 or upon return of incumbentHours of Work: 0930 - 1745Wages: $19.65 - $25.63You will prepare, cook, and bake food for residents, staff and visitors while ensuring a high standard of sanitation in preparing and handling food. You will complete duties relating to modified/therapeutic diet and baking preparation by following established work methods in a safe and efficient manner. You will assist in coordinating meal production and quality and quantity control. Participation in the quality assurance program and departmental meetings is required.Red Seal or Journeyman Cook preferred. Two to three years institutional cooking experience. You are knowledgeable of and able to implement quality food standards and quantity controls. A food safe level one certificate is required. (post July 29,2013) or equivalent for BC employees and Food Safety Certificate or equivalent for Alberta employees. Computer skills an asset. Experience working with the elderly is preferred.You have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal English. You are adaptable, organized and able to develop good working relationships.
