Job Description

Your Opportunity:As an Operating Room Technician, you will be working in the Surgical & Endoscopy unit of the Rocky Mountain House Health Centre providing front line care to patients requiring surgical and endoscope procedures. As part of a multidisciplinary team you’ll be required to prepare patients for procedures, provide scrub and circulating nurse duties during the procedure, preparation for procedure and post procedure care. The surgical & endoscopy teams provide on call support as part of an assigned rotation for emergency surgeries outside of regular hours of operation. New graduate LPN’s will be considered. Working within a team of compassionate and dedicated healthcare professionals, you’ll utilize critical thinking and problem solving skills to competently provide direct patient & family centered care to clients across the life span. You will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of safe, quality care following policies and guidelines of AHS. While demonstrating a professional, positive attitude, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, you have the ability to respond appropriately to a client’s change in status and prioritize conflicting demands. You accept responsibility for continuing competencies through ongoing professional development, including participation in education programs, and continuous improvement activities. Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).Additional Required Qualifications:Able to arrive at facility within 30 minutes (or less) while assigned on call duty. Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician course.Preferred Qualifications:One year experience in the OR or Day Surgery or Endoscopy or Acute Care Nursing preferred.Quick Apply
