Job Description

Position: Ojibway Language TeacherLocation: Rorketon SchoolStart Date: As soon as possibleFTE: .50 FTETerm of Employment: Term to June 30, 2021Application Deadline: Open Until FilledRorketon School is a Kindergarten to Grade 12 school approximately 3 hours northwest of Winnipeg and 1 hour northeast of Dauphin. The school has a student population of 88 students with a teaching staff of 7 and 15 support staff members.Qualifications:Bachelor of Education DegreeValid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)Fluency in Ojibway language both written and oralKnowledge of Indigenous culture, history, and the Truth and Reconciliation calls to actionPrevious teaching experienceA sound knowledge and experience with school-based technologyStrong classroom management skillsExperience working with students with unique needsA commitment to differentiated instructionA willingness to inquire into best practices and reflect on practicesA team player committed to the belief that all students can learnSelf-motivatedApplicants are required to submit the following:cover lettercurrent resumelist of three professional references including contact numbers, all of whom must have knowledge of the applicant’s performance in the applicant’s current or recent assignmentAll applicants are thanked for their interest; however, only applicants selected for an interviewwill be contacted.
