Position:The primary focus of an Camp Counselor will be to teach Snapology programs. Camp Counselor are asked to promote creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while educating students on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) concepts. Programs are conducted for children ages 5-12.. This role requires internal collaboration and communication with Snapology leadership, Huntsman Marine Science Center Management as well as representing the Snapology organization to parents, children and partner with a high degree of professionalism. Role & Responsibilities:Lead groups of up to 15 students through curriculum-guided activitiesInstruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipmentManage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and proceduresMaintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of SnapologyEncourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategiesAdequately prepare for each program by reading curriculum, watching training videos and/or participating in face-to-face training sessionsHandle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programsEncourage students & parents to enroll students in future Snapology programsParticipate in periodic Snapology training & staff meetings, as requiredQualifications:Criminal and vulnerable sector check must be current (within a year)2 or more years of experience working with children in a classroom or camp environmentAbility to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with othersAbility to communicate effectively orally and in writingProven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basisPrograms:sessional: Summer camps (July 5 and Aug 13)This position is a casual position. Camp Counselor typically work between 20 - 40 hours per week.This franchise is independently owned and operated by a franchisee.
