MOUNT ALLISON UNIVERSITYPosition PostingPosition Title: International Recruitment and Position # 3105Admissions CounsellorDepartment: Registrar’s Office – Admissions & Classification: MASA 9RecruitmentSupervisor’s Title: Manager, International Recruitment Posting Date: May 28, 2021and AdmissionsPosition Summary:Reporting to the Manager, International Recruitment and Admissions (MIRA), the InternationalRecruitment & Admissions Counsellor represents the University to prospective students,parents, guidance counsellors, and other influencers, with a focus on international recruitmentand admissions.The incumbent serves as an integral part of the international recruitment and admissions team,guiding prospective students through every stage of the recruitment and admission cycle, fromthe moment of discovery to the moment the prospective student becomes a current student.The incumbent counsels students on the recruitment and admissions process and theUniversity in general, delivers regular presentations, assesses students for admission to theUniversity and for entrance scholarships, prepares related reports, and assists with associatedprograms and materials.The incumbent is required to possess comprehensive knowledge and understanding ofinternational educational systems, English language proficiency testing standards, a generalunderstanding of Canadian study permit processes, as well as issues related to detection ofdocumentation fraud.The incumbent works an irregular schedule to accommodate the schedules of prospectivestudents located in diverse locations around the world, including evenings, overnights, andweekends. Extensive travel - physical and virtual - is required.
