Job Description

Through a variety of learning practices, including classroom, virtual, self-directed, or blended learning experiences, the Learning Consultant is responsible for creating innovative and engaging performance improvement solutions to achieve strategic business outcomes and empower employees to deliver outstanding experiences to our customers and partners. The role consults with key stakeholders to research, recommend, design, develop and deliver integrated, comprehensive training solutions for small to medium-sized and/or medium complexity initiatives, while fostering innovation through talent and culture. The individual will design and develop learning solutions to continue to drive the success of our sales teams.Key accountabilities include:

  • Conducts needs assessment independently or in collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs) identified by impacted business unit(s)
  • Identifies causes of performance gaps and recommends appropriate learning or non-learning solutions in collaboration with the business unit
  • Actions detailed learning proposals outlining the business need, learning audience, learning solution, learning schedule, success measures, and roles and responsibilities for stakeholders and T&OD
  • Creates the learning materials for classroom, virtual, self-directed, or blended learning experiences
  • Schedules content reviews as applicable with SMEs and the T&OD team
  • Focuses on continuous innovation in learning, and finds ways to maximize efficiencies in the development cycle to reduce project timelines
  • Implements project plans for assigned initiatives applying Agile methodology
  • Facilitates virtual and classroom training and provides performance support post training when required
  • Conducts train-the-trainer sessions as appropriate and provides all delivery requirements to facilitators
  • Uses the Talent Management System (TMS) for administration, posting of content, testing, troubleshooting, report generation and distribution
  • Conducts regular analysis of learner results, summarizes and presents findings and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Maintains content integrity of assigned programs through ongoing analysis, delivery observation, and post-delivery/implementation reviews
Minimum position requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Diploma in Adult Learning or a related field or related experience in a similar role
  • CTP or CTPD designation considered an asset
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in adult learning or a related field
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional methodologies
  • Strong experience with online meeting tools and other creative tools to host and deliver training sessions virtually
  • Experience with Talent Management Systems
  • Intermediate knowledge of image editing and design software (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Fireworks, InDesign), video editing tools and authoring tools (e.g. Camtasia, Articulate Storyline, Flow)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, and verbal)
  • Proven consulting capabilities with strong interpersonal and communication skills
