Job Description

It would be a dual role which requires proficiency in both accounts payable and general accounting practices. Detailed is as under:

  • Receive, review, and process invoices from vendors and suppliers.
  • Verify the accuracy of invoices, ensuring proper coding and documentation.
  • Match invoices with corresponding purchase orders and delivery receipts.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors to address inquiries, resolve issues, and build positive relationships.
  • Negotiate favorable payment terms when appropriate.
  • Prepare and process payments through checks and electronic transfers.
  • Ensure payments are made in compliance with company policies and terms.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records of all accounts payable transactions.
  • File and archive invoices, receipts, and payment records for auditing purposes.
  • Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger for various transactions.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of journal entries.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and related accounts on a regular basis.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in reconciliations.
  • Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports as required.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights into variances and trends.
  • Contribute to financial reporting for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulations.
  • Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and incorporate them as needed.
  • Generate financial reports related to accounts payable and general ledger activities.
  • Provide insights into financial performance.
  • Assist in the budgeting process by providing financial data and analysis.
  • Monitor actual performance against budgeted figures.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in both accounts payable and general ledger functions.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Previous experience in accounts payable and general ledger accounting.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
