We are seeking an experienced Associate Director to lead and manage an application testing team responsible for the quality assurance processes as part of the overall software delivery lifecycle. This role will oversee the delivery of high-quality software application projects and drive continuous improvement. This role requires strong mainframe technical expertise, leadership skills, an automation focus, and the ability to manage and mentor a team of quality assurance professionals.Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and mentor a team of 30+ application testers, providing guidance and direction.
  • Effectively manage multiple project priorities and resource allocations within the team.
  • Understand business needs and objectives, translating them into testing requirements.
  • Develop and implement tooling and automation roadmaps as part of an integrated develops strategy.
  • Ensure that all applications are tested using best practices and adhere to company standards.
  • Continuously improve testing processes, including adoption of test tools/automation to improve quality and reduce cycle time.
  • Collaborate closely and foster effective communication across the organization with the development teams, business analysts, project managers, and sales/account management teams.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for upper management and clients as required.
  • Participate in budget planning and forecasting.
  • Identify staffing needs, including contractors and vendors, and account for staffing plans.
  • Demonstrate leadership by mentoring team members and engaging with peers and clients.
Who You Are
  • Extensive managerial experience overseeing teams with direct reports.
  • Bachelor #39;s degree in computer science, engineering, quality assurance, or a related field.
  • In-depth experience in software testing, across functional, e2e integration and regression testing
  • Extensive managerial experience overseeing teams with direct reports.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, industry standard QA techniques, and experience with both waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Track record of juggling multiple project priorities and negotiating win-win outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing test script automation/tooling to improve testing quality and productivity.
  • Extensive QA experience with mainframe applications is preferred.
  • Experience in the Wealth Management or financial services application space is an asset.
Additional Details:This position is fully remote and the candidate can be from anywhere in Canada. There may be some occasional travel required to the Markham Office in Ontario.
