Reporting to the Director of Operations, Specialized Community Services, the Senior Manager of Operations provides overall leadership to all CBI Specialized Community Services home locations for a designated region. The role is critical to optimizing the effectiveness and efficiency of available talent (including minimizing attrition, particularly with high performing staff), quality performance improvements, and creating an environment that is conducive to individual and team growth through coaching, mentoring, and engaging staff. The Senior Manager of Operations is accountable for building a high-quality service with a sustainable, and profitable business, achieving or surpassing company targets that align with CBI Health values and vision.Key Responsibilities:Leadership and People Management:

  • Create a high-performance culture, leading by example, through effective hiring, on-boarding, performance management and mentoring/coaching
  • Ensure all team members are well aligned with the key accountabilities of their role and are meeting expectations
  • Promote and facilitate communication and collaboration between team members, within the region, and with the larger CBI Health network
  • Leading and managing the team to reach organizational goals and objectives through engagement and alignment with CBI Health #39;s Vision and Values
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Develop and nurture local relationships with key customers/funding sources and referral sources
  • Ensure frequent, effective and timely communication between staff and customers
  • Scan the environment for new opportunities that add volume and revenue to current operations
  • Appropriately align services to address gaps identified by stakeholders including individuals-served, their families, natural supports, the community, and funders
  • Develop brand awareness within the local community and industry
Operational and Financial Performance
  • Service delivery execution meets or exceeds expectations (internal and external) re: key performance indicators, standards of practice, and standards of care
  • Effectively guides the team in managing operational needs, ensuring adherence to accreditation and licensing standards, and spearheading quality improvement endeavors
  • Drive revenue through effective management of efficiencies (resource utilization, scheduling)
  • Ensures accurate budgeting and forecasting, executing on action plans to address variances to achieve anticipated growth and financial outcomes
Quality Risk Management
  • Ensure a healthy and safe environment for our individuals and employees
  • Effectively defines and executes on quality improvement plan and quality related deliverables
  • Ensure individuals #39; service experience is optimal, and their needs are met and/or exceeds expectations
  • Ensure team has tools and strategies to understand and meet individuals goals and expectations
What you will need to be successful:
  • Post secondary education in a Health Occupation, Business, Public Administration or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 5-7 years management experience in an operations role; experience in a health care environment is an asset (experience in a residentialamp; transitional setting would be preferred)
  • A track record of successful operations management and/or residential home management
  • Excellent communication and organization skills, with the ability to work as part of a team in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Demonstrated patient-centered focus with a commitment to ensuring a positive resident and family experience
  • An understanding of health equity, diversity, person centered planning and inclusion strategies
  • Strong computer literacy and a proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Extensive knowledge of the health care system and preferably, broad knowledge of the social services system in Alberta
  • Must reside in Calgary or the surrounding area and have the ability to travel
