Job Description

The OpportunityCreate and support operating controls designs for all powertrain products represented by the company.The Role

  • An aptitude for working with powertrain control systems.
  • Ability to understand mechanical operation requirements of powertrain products.
  • Ability to communicate features and capabilities of all powertrain controls systems to internal customers and to assess requirements as required.
  • To be comfortable and effective with all testing tools and apparatus commonly used in powertrain controls products.
  • Ability to monitor, train, and support manufacturing of powertrain controls, and provide QC testing of all powertrain controls products.
  • Create all design documentation and Bill of Materials for manufacturing of controls designs.
  • Develop cost estimates for all controls designs.
  • Work with venders of all products incorporated in controls designs.
  • Ability to self-educate when required using manufacturers literature, training material, industry best practices.
  • To support internal and external customers related to troubleshooting, modifications, rework or design changes as required.
  • Maintain records of all past and new design projects and product history.
  • Maintain copies of vender product literature both online and via hard records as required.

  • Perform duties in a responsible and timely manner.
  • Participate in all required Healthamp; Safety Training.
  • Comply with the Environmental, Healthamp; Safety programs and practices.
  • Perform daily duties in a manner conducive to a safe workplace.
  • Maintain workspace and related housekeeping duties.
  • Meet requirements of Shop Level Hazard and Job Hazard assessments.
  • Work in a team environment in close collaboration to mechanical design, sales requirements and service operations.
The Candidate
  • Education: Diploma level Electrical Engineering technology
  • Work Experience: Wireman or panel assembly technician or equivalency.
  • Knowledge: Experience with Microsoft office software, ability to use the Global Internet, Aptitude with Diagnostic software tools related to powertrain products.
  • Training: CAD training or aptitudeamp; willingness to learn the tools.
