Your Opportunity:Rockyview General Hospital (RGH) is Calgary #39;s second largest tertiary care site. Located in the city #39;s Southwest, it provides acute, outpatient, critical care, surgical, medical, neonatal intensive care, mental health, seniors, women #39;s and emergency health services. The facility is home to two units dedicated to the Acute Geriatric Units (AGU) for the Calgary Zone. Each year, RGH sees approximately 47,000 Medical Outpatients. We are seeking an exceptional Diagnostic Sonographer II to fill the permanent position of supervisor with the Echocardiography department. The RGH echo lab utilizes new, state of the art ultrasound technology to provide high quality diagnostics for both inpatients and outpatients. In collaboration with the Management Team, you will be accountable for daily operations of the RGH Echo department in support of the vision, mission and values of Alberta Health Services. Duties include but are not limited to: coordinating staffing and clinical work, facilitating patient flow and quality care, identifying team development and educational opportunities, assisting with quality improvement initiatives and facilitating change management as identified by and in collaboration with both the Management Team and the Clinical Nurse Educator, and overseeing unit materials and supplies. The Supervisor is instrumental in achieving Accreditation Canada and CPSA standards, and AHS clinical and strategic goals. The supervisor will be responsible for leading unit-based projects and must have experience with supporting/leading organizational change initiatives.Description:As a Diagnostic Sonographer II, you will coordinate the daily operations of the service area. This includes organizing and coordinating all technical and daily work activities for your team of Diagnostic Sonographer Is and other health care providers, ensuring that ultrasound services are available and operating at an optimum level. In addition, you will handle patient and staff complaints and problems related to services, maintain quality assurance and quality control programs for the area, assist in research, development, maintenance and evaluation of Sonography programs and services and assist in the development of policies, procedures and guidelines.
