From owning and operating Solar, Wind and Hydro Power plants, Natural Gas liquids storage facilities to our Hydrogen innovation Hub, we apply our expertise in key markets, including North America, Latin America, and Australia, where our dedication is reflected in our efforts to efficiently and dependably reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, and champion the safety, inclusivity and equity of our people, communities and customers.Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Engineering, Constructionamp; Operations, the Director, Health and Safety is responsible for providing strategic direction, development, implementation and maintenance of policies, programs and services related to health and safety while promoting a culture of continuous improvement for all of ATCO Energy Infrastructure #39;s health and safety practices.What Else You Get To Do:

  • Demonstrate visible safety leadership, supporting a progressive safety culture and be jointly accountable for Health and Safety performance of ATCO Energy Infrastructure.
  • Accountable for leading the delivery of Health and Safety function, across all of ATCO Energy Infrastructure #39;s lines of business, by providing leadership and expertise to the Health and Safety team.
  • Advise leadership on compliance assurance matters, as well as resolving those gaps through supporting and advising the business lines.
  • Manage the Health and Safety team, through employee professional development, training, on-the-job skill-enhancement assignments, goal setting, and performance management.
  • Accountable for regular Health and Safety communications and reporting to internal and external groups.
  • Chair, lead and participate on various Healthamp; Safety committees
  • Collaborate and establish partnerships with certifying partners, regulators and government agencies in the development of policy and regulations applicable to ATCO Energy Infrastructure.
  • Responsible for supporting business development and corporate development initiatives, including request for proposal responses.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing Health and Safety strategies, annual goals and programs aligned to ATCO Energy Infrastructure #39;s strategic business objectives.
  • Establish and maturing the key performance indicators in the Safety Scorecard.
  • Ensure projects have safety team support and resources throughout the Project Lifecycle from early concept development through construction and commissioning activities
  • Accountable for the ownership, development and implementation of policies, processes, procedures and tools, as part of a Safety Management System, that meet regulatory requirements and reflect industry best practices.
  • Accountable for the effectiveness of Health and Safety, Incident Management, Emergency Management and Business Continuity programs, including the supporting software systems.
  • Continuously improve the Safety Management System by evaluating the effectiveness and enhancing the efficiency.
  • Responsible for leading and coordinating internal and external audits and timely completion of corrective actions.
  • Accountable for achieving and exceeding the Certificate of Recognition requirements.
Who You Are:
  • Bachelor #39;s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Occupational Healthamp; Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering).
  • Master #39;s degree in Occupational Healthamp; Safety or related field 15 plus years of experience in Health and Safety, Emergency Management and Business Continuity programs.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in health and safety leadership roles.(preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams of 10 or more, leading through leaders and developing talent.
  • Demonstrated experience working with executive teams developing a progressive safety culture and strategic objectives for Health and Safety.
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills with ability to confidently communicate to all levels of the organization.
  • Field experience delivering safety programs in operating facilities would be an asset.
  • Experience with Intelex implementations would be an asset.
