Job Description

Environmental Scientist/Engineer/TechnologistStudent PlacementWorley Consulting, a business line of Worley with more than 2,000 people in 23 countries. We provide solutions for clients in the Infrastructure, Hydrocarbons, Mining Mineralsamp; Metals, Power, and Refiningamp; Chemicals industries. Our aim is to recruit, develop, and most importantly, retain the people who share our vision and strategy.We are looking to hire new graduates starting in May 2024. This is a full-time position located in our Calgary, Edmonton, or Cold Lake office.Overall Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • A strong understanding and focus on health and safety in the workplace
  • Various types of fieldwork including but not limited to surface water/groundwater monitoring and sampling, drilling, test pitting, remedial excavations, and reclamation
  • Subcontractor management, logging/texturing soils and operating various types of environmental related field equipment
  • Collection of accurate field data using best practices and following standard operating procedures
  • Support and assist Project Managers in all aspects of project execution including coordination and procurement of project supplies and subcontractor services
  • Preparation and execution of technical reports
  • Mentorship and training of new and junior staff
  • Travel within Alberta and potentially British Columbia
Qualifications
  • University Degree or Technical Diploma from accredited institution, plus appropriate continuing education
  • Minimum of 2 years #39; experience in assessment, remediation, and monitoring in the field of environmental consulting
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team
  • Class 5 driver #39;s license
  • Experience in either the oil and gas industry or mining is considered an asset
  • Ability to work challenging and potentially extended hours under varying weather conditions
  • Working toward professional registration/certification or recently certified
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Word and Excel
