  • Work closely with business units to provide counsel and support in an information technology focused practice area
  • Review, revise, and negotiate licensing agreements, contracts and other related technology agreements and advise business units on risks and mitigation of same
  • Conduct legal research and provide advice to various department heads and executives
  • Identify legal issues, research and analyze complicated situations and develop practical solutions in an efficient and timely manner
  • Develop working relationships with a variety of stakeholders and work effectively with outside counsel
  • Write concise briefs on regulations, legal/compliance matters and other ad hoc legal issues to defend legal position and provide guidance to team
  • Develop a thorough understanding of MNP #39;s services, businesses and industry
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
  • Understanding of the business and ethical considerations in exploring generative AI
Skills and Experience
  • Four (4) to seven (7) years post-call experience, with a preference for at least two (2) years working within an in-house Legal Counsel role
  • Experience in negotiating commercial contracts, particularly within technology, digital and data domains
  • Demonstrated ability to identify legal issues, research and analyze complicated situations and develop practical solutions
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders
  • Customer service driven
  • Ability to communicate in both English and French (oral and written) would be an asset
