• Demonstrates awareness of health, safetyamp; environment issues; takes action to ensure zero harm to all colleagues, customers, contractors and the environment.
• Willing to learn and develop geotechnical engineering knowledge on projects and pursuits, including geological site reconnaissance, geotechnical site characterization, geotechnical analysis, laboratory analysis, geotechnical engineering design, geotechnical owner #39;s engineering and geotechnical QA/QC inspection, testing and reporting.
• Be involved in developing geotechnical engineering recommendations regarding, but not limited to, seismic analysis, soil mechanics, soil and rock engineering parameters, soil dynamic parameters and site development.
• Assist in preparing reports and proposals, attend client meetings, and deliver client and industry facing project overviews and presentations.
• Work as part of an integrated delivery team within our business, comprising of other engineering disciplines, professional environmental scientists, project delivery and project support staff on existing and new Advisian/Worley projects.
• Travel as required for various field programs.
• A desire and interest to develop geotechnical skills across the spectrum of the industry working in the mining, in tailings, supporting dam safety reviews, dam engineering and infrastructure projects.
• Eligible to enroll in Worley #39;s Graduate Development program
• Bachelor #39;s degree from an accredited institution plus appropriate continuing education in geotechnical engineering, or equivalent.
• Master #39;s degree is an asset
• Working towards registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng).
• Knowledge with design software (e.g. GeoStudio (SLOPE/W, etc.), Rocscience, AllPile, and/or HEC-RAS, AutoCAD and ArcGIS software would be considered an asset
• A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written.
• Organizational and time management skills
• Work ethic produces accurate and credible deliverables, meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently and make decisions with input and review from supervisor;
• Bilingual capability (English / Portuguese / Spanish) is an asset.
