At the ENMAX group of companies, we look for energy solutions for today, while knowing we have the power to provide for a better tomorrow.The OT Infrastructure Specialist is a critical role within the System Automations team, responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of Operational Technology (OT) network and server systems for the operation of the electric power grid at ENMAX Power. In addition to a working knowledge of grid interconnectivity and components, this position will be responsible for leading an innovative approach for the procurement, installation, and commissioning of necessary hardware and software needed for the operation of ENMAX Power Company #39;s (EPC) control center infrastructure.Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for planning, designing, installing, and maintaining Operational Technology (OT) network and server systems including OT support systems and PI database system.
  • Create, update and oversee OT infrastructure strategies and policies to ensure the ENMAX OT systems meet reliability commitments set out by the regulator.
  • Responsible for the OT asset management programs. This includes sustaining capital replacement programs, back up policies, disaster recovery plans, and software strategies.
  • Procure, install, and maintain control centre hardware and software infrastructure
  • Support end-users in the Control Centre with hardware or software requests.
  • Support development of the ARS standards related to OT systems in collaboration with the ARS team.
  • Administration of the OSI PI system and its integration with the corporate data warehouse.
  • Plan and execute CIP and NIST sustainment activities such as device and application security hardening, patching, and annual document review activities.
  • Responsible for the design and implementation of network infrastructure for edge communication between EPC control center to distribution grid equipment that meets applicable industry standards.
  • Responsible for the design of OT infrastructure solutions for new projects, such as Distributed Energy Resources Management System (DERMS), and Automatic Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Integration.
Qualificationsamp; Experience:
  • Bachelor #39;s degree or diploma in IT, Electrical or Electronics field or equivalent experience
  • Related IT certifications from vendors such as Microsoft, Cisco or others.
  • 10+ years #39; relevant experience with design, implementation, and operation of OT infrastructure. with extensive experience on design, implementation, trouble shooting and operation of OT infrastructure.
  • Extensive experience with system integrations in an OT environment, including;
  • Configuration of host for virtual machines
  • Network design
  • VM management
  • System hardware
  • Container Orchestration
  • Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD)
  • Software maintenance and patching
  • Experience in VMware, SQL database administration, and OT integrations between applications.
  • Proficiency with DevOps tools considered an asset.
