Job Type:Intern/Student (Fixed Term)Plains is an industry-leading transportation and midstream provider specializing in transportation, storage, processing and marketing solutions for crude oil and natural gas liquids (NGLs). We provide our students with opportunities to build their professional networks through working alongside skilled professionals, mentors, and other students.Plains #39; internship opportunities have been specifically designed to provide students the opportunity to apply their academic studies and gain valuable experience through meaningful and challenging work.Plains #39; has great opportunities for three highly motivated students to join our Regulatory Compliance team in our Calgary office for a 12-month term position beginning January 2, 2024. The successful students will be responsible for conducting research, gathering data relative to regulatory requirements and subsequently interpreting and analyzing their findings.Responsibilities:

  • Understanding regulatory requirements as they pertain to Plains and the industry;
  • Execute maintenance and communication of legal inventories and lists;
  • Maintains the Regulatory Information Management System (RIMS) with regulatory project status, requirements, conditions, and reports;
  • Assist with determining system enhancements and act as the business lead utilizing the agile framework
  • Research existing, proposed, new and amending legislation and identify impacts to the organization and maintain tracking system to verify internal and external consultation with stakeholders is complete;
  • Conducting research to gather relative information;
  • Analyzing data and interpreting findings;
  • Design governance documents;
  • Liaison with vendors; and
  • Assisting in daily ad hoc requests as required.
Qualifications:
  • Candidates must be pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business and have completed their second year of studies;
  • Preference will be given to students pursuing a minor in Business Process Management/Business Analysis;
  • Prior intern/student work experience is considered an asset;
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and organizational skills;
  • Proficiency with MS Office including Excel, Word, SharePoint and Outlook;
  • Proven flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing business conditions;
  • Excellent computer and communication skills;
  • Ability to work well within a fast-paced team environment and under minimal supervision;
  • Preference will be given to a student who will be returning to university to finish their undergraduate degree following the completion of this work term;
  • Interns must be able and willing to relocate themselves to Calgary for the duration of the work term;
  • Interns must be able to commit to a full 12-month work term starting January 2, 2024, to be considered for the program; and
  • The successful candidate must provide satisfactory references and complete a Criminal Background Check.
