Worker Type: EmployeeGroup: Occupational Safetyamp; Assurance DepartmentJob Post End Date: 10/17/2023About this opportunity:We are seeking a Senior Advisor who will lead and implement Cenovus #39; Operations Integrity Management System (COIMS) assurance program. The Senior COIMSamp; Assurance Advisor will support entities and business units in development of their corrective actions and is accountable for facilitating gap assessments including supporting implementation, adoption, and improvement of Gap Closure Plans.This position is based in our downtown Calgary, Alberta office. Periodic travel to sites will be required.Responsibilities:

  • Implement the COIMS assurance program (i.e., maintain assessment plan and annual assessment schedule)
  • Lead and participate in COIMS gap assessments (number of assessments to be agreed as part of annual performance contract)
  • Verify and assist business units are completing their corrective actions as per agreed plan
  • Improving the assurance program and supporting COIMS management system review
  • Support the implementation, adoption and improvement of the Gap Closure Plans
  • Act as a single point of contact for their assigned portfolio of entities, for all COIMS related inquiries.
  • Facilitate entities through the COIMS exemption and renewal process.
  • Facilitate the COIMS reporting process for their assigned entities.
  • Support development and standardization of entity-specific processes to meet the requirements set forth by the COIMS Framework/Standards.
  • Support the implementation of the Element 15 within their assigned entities (i.e., annual Management Review process, LOD planning/execution).
  • Work with leadership to coach/mentor on operationalizing COIMS processes and required behaviors.
  • Collaborate with COIMS Element sponsors and document owners to create standards and guidance documents
Qualifications:
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Completion of a post-secondary degree in Business, Engineering, Finance or related field.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of industry experience with 3 years of lead auditor experience.
  • Formal auditor training (i.e., ISO 9001 or equivalent).
  • Alternate combinations of formal HSE/Audit education combined with extensive field experience will be considered.
  • Highly developed communication, leadership, facilitation, and coaching skills including the ability to present to large groups.
  • Demonstrated experience with stakeholder management. Strong ability to develop inter-relationships with business units, to ensure gap closure activities and continuous. improvement plans are realistic and effective and that issues or gaps are addressed proactively.
  • Ability to understand organizational objectives and align industry standard methodologies with performance assessment and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated knowledge with frameworks for performance assessments and audit protocols; ability to analyze and assess documentation against corporate standards/policies.
  • Confirmed ability to assess leading and lagging indicators against expectation of corporate standards/policies.
The following will be considered an asset:
  • Previous auditor experience or formal auditor training
  • Certified Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or other Safety certifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
