Perform technical analyses to assist in the investigation, analysis, evaluation and disposition of claims. Delivers risk control services to clients in assigned territory with respect to building practices. Typically works on accounts of moderate to high complexity/severity. Works autonomously with only general supervision. May be involved in 15% of time working with Home Warranty Claims.What Will You Do

  • Travel outside of office 80% or more of time performing technical analyses.
  • Perform technical analyses on accounts of moderate to high complexity and/or claims of moderate to high severity with minimal supervision.
  • Expect 5-8 site visits per day subject to site locations.
  • Write technically detailed reports that provide a clear assessment of risk and clearly articulate recommendations.
  • Make appropriate construction decisions and make appropriate recommendations to management.
  • Assure that all policies and procedures, including compliance, regulatory, performance and customer service standards are met or exceeded.
  • Provide technical information necessary for underwriting or claim to prepare relevant reports to accurately reflect loss development, technical analyses, potential/actual financial exposure, coverage issues, and claim and recovery strategies.
  • Make quick, sound decisions and negotiate terms and conditions consistent with Warranty standards.
  • Assist/mentor less experienced colleagues.
  • Conduct annual client reviews and project site surveys at Client (Builder) sites to determine potential risk factors to be considered in underwriting/risk selection.
  • Serve as resource to Account Executive in business development.
  • Market Travelers to the client and other industry participants to provide business.
  • Accurately and quickly communicates with underwriting on client risk factors and recommendations.
  • Effectively consults and communicates with clients on ways to control risk and avoid losses. Promotes and encourages clients to implement risk avoidance strategies. Where and when required, directs clients to act.
  • Able to identify high risk situations or contract breaches caused by an irresponsible client and promptly reports such situations to higher management.
  • Maintain current knowledge of regulatory environment and emerging safety issues.
  • Can explain to customers how the issues impact them and what they can do.
  • Identify where customer is falling short and use that as an example of why they need to follow the recommendation.
  • Review Building Envelope Consultants Field Reports.
  • May assist Perform preliminary multifamily project reviews prior to acceptance of warranty.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have
  • Have a thorough knowledge of residential construction.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of wood framed buildings and building envelopes.
  • Have experience with concrete construction and practices.
  • Have experience with home warranty.
What is a Must Have
  • Undergraduate degree or technical diploma (BCIT or equivalent) in a construction related discipline.
  • Minimum ten (10) years construction related experience.
