Job Description

Wildlife BiologistPME Inc. is a self-performing Civil Industrial Construction company serving Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. They specialize in making Civil Industrial projects more innovative and provide services from start to finish. With a focus on safety, budget, schedule, and quality. PME Inc. has established long-term partnerships by exceeding client expectations. They are the Civil division of EllisDon Group of Companies.Key Information:

  • Location: Various projects in the Edmonton and Calgary areas.
  • Hours: Based on a 40 hour week with overtime as required. (Project dependent)
  • Hourly rate is dependent on experience.

  • This is a full-time on-site role for a Fisheries/Wildlife Biologist at PME Inc., based in Fort Saskatchewan or Calgary, AB. The Fisheries/Wildlife Biologist will be responsible for conducting daily tasks related to wildlife management, fish biology, vegetation, environmental construction monitoring and other relevant areas. They will work closely with the team to ensure project compliance, environmental impact assessment, and proper wildlife conservation strategies.
Experience and Certification Requirements:
  • Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Environmental Sciences or related field.
  • Professional accreditation or eligibility to apply (i.e., P.Biol, R.P.Bio).
  • Ability to be designated as a QAES.
  • A valid Class 5 driver #39;s license.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental field assessments (i.e., wildlife surveys, fish and fish habitat assessments, fish and amphibian salvages, etc.).
  • Ability to analyze and interpret biological data.
  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations and policies (i.e., Water Act, Wildlife Act, Fisheries Act, Migratory Birds Convention Act, 1994, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Electrofishing certification and experience is considered an asset.
  • Experience in a Civil Industrial Construction industry is a plus.
  • Proficient English language skills required.
  • A reliable means of transportation is required.
