ASSISTANT-CLINICAL COUNSELLOROur center Portage, at St-Malachie, is actually looking for an assistant clinical counsellor. Thisis a permanent position, part time.Portage is a not- for-profit organization that helps people overcome substance abuse- issues andassociated behavioural problems in order to achieve positive lifestyle changes. Portage providesdrug addiction rehabilitation treatment in its various centres in Atlantic Canada, Québec andOntario. Portage Prevost services youth aged 14 – 18 years of age.**JOB SUMMARYYou are known for your sense of observation You enjoy working at night Look no further, wehave the job for you! Portage is currently seeking a night staff for their center located in CassidyLake, New brunswick.As Night Assistant Couselor you will have to:

• Ensure the respect of policies and procedures in the organism and always put at the forefront

the quality of care, safety and well-being of users;

• To be vigilant with regard to the safety of personnel and Portage users, to promptly report any

unsafe situations and report in the shortest possible time, any accident or incident involving oneor more users;

• Carry out patrols to ensure regular checks;
• Ensure monitoring and maintaining order and discipline;
• Check on the general needs of users;
• Provide assistance to agitated users and any other similar situations;
• Communicate with the supervisor in the event of urgent need;
• See to the general maintenance of the premises;
• Identify and report any discrepancies and take action according to the regulations of the

facility to prevent any danger;

• Apply the rules of the establishment for internal and external movement of personnel, visitors,

customers and suppliers;

• Apply the preventive measures and verify the operation of the protection systems while

working with the various municipal services;

• Participate in orientation and training of new staff;
• Perform other related duties at the request of his/her immediate superior;

Profile sought :

• High School Diploma completed;
• Developed Observation skills;
• Good self-control;
• Courteous and honest;
• Good judgment;
