Job Description

We are hiring a cook to make hearty meals for a crew of hungry shift workers. You will work on your own to prepare and serve meals to 10 to 12 people approximately 10 hours per day, 7 days a week for one month. It will be a split shift where you get up at 4:00 AM to prepare breakfast and do clean up until about 8:00 AM. You will then have time to rest before preparing the evening meal starting from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM including cleanup. We want healthy meals with plenty of variety. You will be supplied with the best quality ingredients. You will have a full kitchen complete with professional propane stove, large fridge/freezer space, dishwasher, and large prep area. You will have a private room with an ensuite bathroom.Responsibilities:

• Ensure that the kitchen area is well stocked with fresh food, ingredients and supplies.
• Prepare a variety of healthy, substantial meals for workers doing twelve hour shifts
• Always keep the kitchen clean, sanitary and tidy.

Job Type: Fixed term contractContract length: 1 monthSalary: $20.00-$25.00 per hourFlexible language requirement:

• French not required

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Amherst, QC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:

• Cooking: 3 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

• Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
