Job Description

Headquartered in France, Alstom is now present in 70 countries and employs 75,000 people. www.alstom.comBased in St-Bruno (Québec) area, you will be asked to perform the following tasks:

  • Supervising a team of 5 in St-Bruno, and reporting to the Director of Accounting, you will be responsible for the Month-End, Quarter-End and Year-End accounting closure process for Alstom Canada, Bombardier Transportation Canada and other Canadian divisions.
  • You will also be responsible for the preparation of the annual and quarterly financial statements.
  • Dealt with the External Auditors during their quarterly and annual audit
  • Maintain an healthy balance sheet reconciliation process
  • Manage relationship with the Tax team, support tax provision calculations and tax audits
We also expect the Country Controller to support ad hoc request such as consulting on the accounting on customer proposal, support the activities related to the creation of different joint ventures, support the Director of Accounting in the quest on "non-traditional" source of funding and other challenging requests.On top of the "regular" tasks above, the road map for the next two years included the following challenges:
  • Merger of numerous Canadians entities
  • Change in the functionnal currencies of some of the Canadians entities
  • Upcoming SAP implementation
Agility, flexibility and creativity will key for the success of the candidate in this role.Job requirements
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting
  • CPA designation required
  • 10 years minimal experience
