Job Description

Demand Planner & Inventory AnalystWe are looking for a Demand Planner & Inventory Analyst in our Purchasing department to join our team. If you are passionate, self-motivated and would like to work for one of the leading companies in the promotional items industry, we invite you to apply!Main functions of this role include but are not limited to the following tasks:

  • Proactively analyze and make suggestions to Supply Chain leadership and internal stakeholders with regards to replenishment strategies to optimize inventory investment
  • Generate periodic predictions based on historical information, using integrated information systems, and review performance and detail for each SKU to ensure the level of detail needed for decision making
  • Collaborate and maintain updated activity overview (promotions, marketing plans and launch of new products), properly timed and quantified from inputs received from internal departments, and track performance of activities and impact on demand and supply plans
  • Define and maintain demand plan - leverage efficient planning (and related processes) to ensure availability of goods as a key competitive advantage and to achieve operational targets.
  • Analyze and follow closely overstocks and slow movers and recommend corrective actions to optimize working capital – including recommendations for product promotions and discontinuations.
  • Adjust system generated and manual forecasts and ensure alignment with required material dates. Update communication throughout the organization as required. Proactive review of inventory levels to prevent/minimize stock-outs
  • Contribute to establishment and support of inventory strategies and adjustments for company growth and improved performance, reviewing periodic demand and supply forecast accuracy to trigger corrective actions towards continuous improvement of performance
  • Report and explain Demand and supply planning KPI: stock availability, stock cover and forecast accuracy
  • Contribute to evaluation of suppliers based on capability, performance, and delivery
  • Work with peers to manage supply chain standard operating procedures
  • Contribute and participate in process improvement projects. Develop and implement solutions to drive continuous improvement and improve business decisions.
  • Participate in the S&OP process
  • Escalate any issues related to conflicting inputs or lack of inputs in the process.
  • Work with interdisciplinary teams to provide insight into the root causes of demand forecasting errors and highlight areas where improvement in forecasting accuracy should be done by soliciting feedback from other parts of the supply chain.
  • Understand the internal and external factors that can influence demand.
  • Support projects related to process alignment, operational measures, inventory control with analysis and concrete recommendations.
Skills And Qualifications
  • Excellent command of MS Excel [ need to be comfortable manipulating data]
  • Experience in the consumer goods industry
  • 5-7 years overall experience in logistics or distribution
  • 2+ years’ experience forecasting/planningor planning/purchasing
  • Bilingual (written and spoken) with excellent communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to overcome difficult situations
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment
  • Experience managing inventory vs forecasting
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize autonomously
  • Exceptional team player
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
