Job Description

Based in our Ville Saint-Laurent, Quebec facility, we are looking to hire an IT Technician to work in our IT Department. This is a hands-on information technology position with the technical responsibility of administeringmaintaining desktop systems and users. This role will report to and work with Spector’s VP of IT and vendors to support & troubleshoot user, desktop, laptop, printer, and other device support requests. This is an on-site position.Duties and responsibilities

  • Setup / troubleshoot / repair / upgrade desktop and laptop computers for new and current users
  • Responsible for providing various help desk support services to our main facility and remote users
  • Triaging and responding to calls and emails from users and tickets generated by our monitoring software
  • Utilizing our advanced documentation system to facilitate closing tickets and record keeping
  • Provide and deploy new software and equipment
  • Installing and upgrading anti-virus software and security systems to ensure network security
  • Ability to adapt to situations involving clients with unique hardware and software requirements
  • Performing tests and evaluations on software and hardware
  • Offering information and support to users
  • Maintaining relationships with different employees and departments
  • Remedy situations during working hours or after, when necessary (rotational schedule)
Knowledge and experience
  • 2-3 years of IT experience
  • Desktop software / hardware support
  • Active Directory and Exchange account management
  • Experience installing cable and network hardware
  • Antivirus software
  • Have demonstrated troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and administrative skills
  • Must understand the environments of office networks and Windows servers
  • Must understand VPN, remote connectivity, and network concepts in general
  • Experience in project management would be an asset

Special Working Conditions
  • Occasional overtime, on-call support and after-hours work may be required.
  • Heavy lifting is required for this position. Must be able to lift and transport moderately heavy objects (computers, servers, devices, and printers) on a regular basis.
  • This position will be exposed to highly confidential material and/or information. Every effort must be made to ensure that sensitive information and/or materials that are critical in nature are properly stored and secured.
