Joining us means joining a truly global community of more than 70000 people dedicated to solving real-world mobility challenges and achieving international projects with sustainable local impact.Join us as Senior Legal Counsel, and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in Toronto, CA for the RER project.Provide legal support and expertise with regard to legal issues arising out of the business activity with customers, partners, and subcontractors.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare, review and negotiate contracts, or other legal documents with an acceptable level of risks
  • Support the business in all legal and contractual matters including claim management, dispute settlement
  • Contractual and legal evaluation of tender documents
  • Support the business in proactively managing and instructing litigation, arbitration or other dispute matters
  • Handling of corporate law matters
  • Promoting the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct.
REQUIRED PROFILE:
  • Law degree (BCL or LLB)
  • Admitted to the Ontario Bar Association
  • Master Degree (Law or Business) (Desirable)
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in an international business environment or law firm.
  • Familiar with public-private partnerships or complex international contracts
  • Familiar with public tenders
  • Excellent English language skills
  • Private practice experience in international law firm is a plus (Desirable)
  • Experience in construction or commercial litigation or arbitration (Desirable)
  • Open-minded and solution oriented
  • Teamwork spirit
  • Ability to provide sound risk analysis and reasoning
  • Willingness to take initiatives and responsibilities Pro-activity & responsiveness
