Job Description

We are looking for a Logistics Specialist to join our Purchasing Department. In this role you will be reporting to the Purchasing Manager. If you are passionate, self-motivated and would like to work for one of the leading companies in the promotional items industry, we invite you to apply!Main functions of this role include but are not limited to the following job tasks:

  • Establish and implement program for shipment consolidation from overseas suppliers.
  • Review and approve bookings for shipments with freight forwarders.
  • Track and trace inbound shipments and update information in database.
  • Produce periodic reports to track transit timelines and transportation partner performance.
  • Monitor on time delivery and address and resolve inbound shipment issues.
  • Negotiate and evaluate sea, ground, and air freight rates with freight forwarders.
  • Evaluate KPIs and performance of freight partners.
  • Provide updates on business challenges as related to freight/transportation, recommend resolutions or solutions.
  • Review, approve and address any errors in freight invoices.
  • Create and track debit notes to forwarders and resolve any related issues.
  • Calculate freight estimates for new products being introduced to the product line: update database, and review upon actual receipt to confirm and assess any variations.
Skills/Requirements:
  • 3 years relevant knowledge.
  • Experience with freight process for imports from overseas as well as domestic sources.
  • Experience working with freight agents.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Exceptional team player.
  • MS office software – intermediate/advanced.
  • Inquisitive, with solid problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize autonomously.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Bilingual; French, English.
Assets:
  • Experience with consolidation of import shipments.
  • Experience with First Sale import procedures and process.
