This person will have to perform all other tasks related to his function.RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install and repair mechanical systems on vessels under construction or in dry dock;
  • Participate in major repairs as directed by the mechanical foreman; use lifting equipment, disassemble and reassemble machines and equipment, handle parts and participate in job completion testing as directed;
  • Install and repair plumbing systems;
  • Maintain and repair machinery and work equipment
  • Perform preventive inspections;
  • Perform other routine maintenance;
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure that it is functioning properly and that repairs meet manufacturer’s requirements;
  • Perform the inspection and repair of machinery or stationary and rolling equipment that will be inspected;
  • Perform any other duty as assigned by his immediate supervisor;
  • Participate and support the activities of the Health, Safety and Environment Management System.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Diploma in mechanics, plumbing and heating, or in any related fields;
  • Knowledge of diesel mechanics and piping;
  • One (1) to two (2) years of experience in mechanics of any kind;
  • Experience in vessel mechanics (asset);
  • Experience in the marine industry (asset);
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
