The Pricing analyst will play an integral role in the enhancing the pricing analytical capabilities of ABB-EL. Utilized by sales and marketers for business intelligence activities. The Pricing analyst will impact profitability and NPV through strategic, operational and tactical pricing modeling. This position will report to the pricing manager.Your responsibilities

  • Supporting the team with work in database management, data analytics and modelling.
  • Take ownership of utilizing the price related tools.
  • Analyze volume/price/mix/share interactions by trade area, customer, product line, agreement type, regions, sales person.
  • Ability to detect database errors and misinformation and interpret the business impact as well as being able to propose data solutions and products.
  • Create and maintain data & analytics infrastructure to enable fact-based business decision making.
  • Distribute and facilitate access to accurate, on time and visual information to drive data literacy across the organization, empowering users and the analytics team.
  • Provide trustworthy advice and guidance to the business while building strong relationships, driving targets and managing expectations.
  • Transform data requests and business challenges into data products which drive action, automation and added value.
  • Implement and monitor price adjustment “stickiness”.
  • Support the team’s efforts to document pricing strategies, processes and market feedback.
  • Excellent knowledge of main statistical techniques to analyze data (regressions, classification, cluster analysis, etc.).
  • Able to conduct an analytical task from start to finish data collection, data cleansing, data mining and analysis, reporting results.
  • Ability to effectively influence decision makers through analytics.
  • Ability to allow data “tell a story” through creative and effective use of graphs to all levels in the organization.
  • Knowledge of data visualization techniques and tools (Tableau) would be considered an asset.
Your background
  • Professional Pricing Society CPP designation would have preference.
  • Experience within the Electrical Industry would be considered an asset.
  • Relevant diploma combined with minimum of 5 Years of experience in a commercial or analytics role.
  • Data Science, Economic, Mathematics Engineering or related.
  • SAP working knowledge would be considered an asset.
  • Strong relationship builder and assertive, good facilitation and influencing skills.
  • Ability to influence a broad network regardless of formal authority.
  • Business acumen.
  • Self motivator with ability to work independently and as a contributing team member.
  • Advanced user of Excel (formulas, macros).
  • Proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Able to organize large amounts of data to maintain version control.
  • Knowledge in ABB-EL products and tools (SAP, TOPS) is a clear asset.
  • Ability to create models that provide “what if” capabilities and drive innovative ideas.
  • Able to balance smaller assignments and requests with larger projects.
  • Ability to prioritize work and follow through on deadlines in a fast paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to communicate and operate at all levels in English. (French is an asset.)
  • Sharp analytical skills and process-driven with the ability to creatively solve business problems.
