Job Description

Company descriptionMacdonald Campus Students’ Society is a student society on the West-island Macdonald Campus of McGill University run by elected student executives. As most of our academic programs focus on the environment and nutrition, our student body and society executives value sustainable and equitable practices for all operations. As a staff member, you would be working under and with the society’s council and executives.Job descriptionResponsibilities As an individual, you should be able to:

As Restaurant Manager, you should be able to:
  • Work with MCSS executives and Ceilidh Restaurant Committee in the planning and design of a restaurant from ground up using your experience, curiosity, and passion for the food and service industry to create a food service for students on campus
  • Develop a functional team, business plan, sustainable supply chain, and menu in collaboration with MCSS executives and Ceilidh Restaurant Committee;
Remaining as Restaurant manager once restaurant is operational, you should be able to:
  • Manage staff, inventory, and all restaurant operations;
  • Meet financial and operational objectives while maximizing profitability;
  • Upkeep sanitation and functionality of kitchen, bar, and other spaces involved in operations
Requirements
  • University / college degree or experience in a similar position for more than or equal to 5 years required.
  • Experience in Restaurant management is considered an asset
  • Ability to commit to at least 5 years to build and operate the restaurant year to year.
  • Be able to work with and for student executives and the student body.
  • Professional proficiency in both French and English required.
  • Sustainability at heart, passion for this space, and business acumen is a must.
Regarding the Contract
  • 5% of Net Operating Profits (NOP) as an incentive/bonus at the end of each fiscal year.
  • Terms: Working during the academic year (August to May). Vacation is to be taken over the summer.
