Job Description

Job Profile The Cultivation Technician position is responsible for the management of crop growing operations. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow production schedules and communicate variances to the Production Manager
  • Perform all the tasks in the grow including: cloning, transplanting, feeding plants, defoliation, super cropping, topping, flushing, foliar and preventative sprays, trimming, packaging, waste disposal and inventory management.
  • Determine irrigation frequency and duration
  • Monitor environmental inputs to maximize production
  • Perform water, nutrient and soil tests
  • Execute pest management protocols as directed by QAP
  • Identify and trouble shoot plant problems
  • Maintain grow room sanitation protocols
  • Perform regular calibration of nutrient testing instruments
  • Keep daily records for production accuracy and compliance with all the laws
  • Perform preventative maintenance on growing equipment and test instruments
  • Keep records for grow journals and Health Canada documentation
  • Utilize environmental control system to regulate grow room parameters
  • Help develop ways to reduce costs or improve efficiencies in production
  • Ensure compliance of company safety procedures
  • Ensure cleanliness of facility at all times
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Two years prior experience as a Grower Horticultor or a similar position
  • Previous ACMPR experience is considered an asset
  • Greenhouse and/or a horticultural degree preferred
  • Knowledge of the cannabis plant and genetics is preferred
  • Must have accountability, proactive behavior and strong attention to detail
Working conditions This is a greenhouse working environment, which may have continuous exposure to heat, light and humidity
  • Maybe be required to work on weekends and during holidays, from time to time.
Physical requirements This position is physically demanding and requires the ability to lift/move heavy objects (up to 50lbs), standing and bendingQuick Apply
