Job Description

Human Resources SpecialistPermanent positionposition to fill 1Code RH22-02Work location is in Montreal / Nunavikdeadline to apply January 24, 2022The normal work schedule is on a 1 / 1- 40-40 rotation, or 1 week worked at Camp Expo Nunavik (77 hours of work per week, 7 days per week) followed by 1 paid week of rest. Then two weeks of work in the office (10 days) of 8 hours per day from Monday to Friday.Privileges & benefits

ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Corporate HR Superintendent, the HR Specialist plays a key role in the management of human resources at the corporate and mining site. She / He will be responsible for supporting HR in performance management, labor relations as well as implementing and supporting various HR programs, policies, and initiatives. The specialist will be a positive contributor to a team and able to adapt to a constantly changing environment. More specifically, the Advisor will work to:
  • Support the deployment of HR programs and processes such as employee engagement, performance management, talent development, onboarding process etc.
  • Develop and implement HR policies throughout the organization.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement and development of best practices in human resources management in collaboration with the HR team at site.
  • Act as a change agent for HR transformation and actively seek opportunities to improve MTL-Site HR practices, processes, and collaborative tools.
  • Play an advisory role in the negotiation of collective agreements.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the recruitment department to understand the requirements of each department and ensure the alignment of our practices.
  • Monitor the progress of HR site -MTL files, provide reports as needed based on performance indicators.
  • Maintain organizational charts and detailed job descriptions.
  • Preparation of government reports to remain in compliance.
  • Support the HR Superintendent in all matters relating to human resources, as needed.
  • Take charge of various projects according to the attributions.
  • Performs all other related tasks requested by the HR Superintendent.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Bachelors degree in human resources management, business administration or industrial relations.
  • Experience in a strategic advisory role in labor relations as well as in analytics and complex management issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English and French.
  • Solid knowledge of Quebec labor laws.
  • Discretion and confidentiality, diplomacy and judgment are essential.
  • Be a member of the CRHA, CRIA
  • French and English (spoken and written).
