Position InformationPosition Number P00075Position Title Continuing Studies Instructor - Excel Level 1, 2 and 3Division/Portfolio Continuing Studies and Corporate TrainingDepartment/Program C/S Part Time VocationalLocation Salmon Arm, RevelstokeYour OpportunityUnder the supervision of the Designated Supervisor, the instructor is responsible for instructing curriculum related to the teaching assignment, keeping curriculum current and maintaining related documentation specific to the course.Functions and Duties

  • Provide teaching and other educational services to participants registered in the program, including advice and instructional assistance as it pertains to course content.
  • Ensure that participants understand and comply with the rules and policies governing the operation of Okanagan College as outlined in the OC Calendar
  • Monitor and evaluate participant progress in the course.
  • Communicate with the Program Administrator/Coordinator on any issue related to student participation or course delivery.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Education and ExperienceAn undergraduate degree and post secondary teaching experience are preferred; however, applicants who have completed Grade 12 and possess an equivalent combination of teaching and work experience in their area of expertise may be considered.An Instructor’s Diploma or valid BC Teacher’s Certificate appropriate to the instructional assignment is preferred.6 – 10 years recent relevant experienceSkills and AbilitiesCandidates must be committed to a team approach, demonstrate good written and oral English skills and have good interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will have an exceptional teaching record. Successful applicants will be an integral part of the team that will help Okanagan College realize the promise of a world-class college. Candidates will be comfortable in a computerized environment and demonstrate knowledge of programs relevant to their discipline.
