We value fostering and sustaining an environment of diversity and inclusion where everyone can reach their full potential.WHAT YOU WILL DOUnder the direction of the Assistant Manager, Silviculture Technicians will have a significant field component and will be responsible for applying technical skills and knowledge when conducting silviculture projects, including tree planting implementation, silviculture surveys, treatment area layout, field assessments, and reporting along with various timber development opportunities in the winter.These positions are flexible and have opportunity for either full-time, seasonal (April to November), or summer terms (available for forestry students seeking summer employment).WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • A safety conscious attitude;
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record; and
  • Broad understanding of general forestry practices.
Bonus Skills to Highlight:
  • Silviculture survey experience, planting supervision and/or planting pay plot experience;
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline or currently enrolled in a post-secondary forestry program;
  • Silviculture Surveyor Accreditation would be an asset. Candidates that aren’t Accredited Silviculture Surveyors will be considered for additional in-house support, towards achieving accreditation;
  • Registered or eligible to be registered with the ABCFP or enrolled as a FIT or TFT;

  • Able to work both independently under limited direct supervision as well as in a dynamic team environment;
  • Effective problem solving with decision making skills.
