Whether residents are catching a movie in our tiered movie theatre, enjoying a gourmet meal at the Silver Swan dining room, or drinking at Corks wine bar, the ambiance cannot be matched anywhere in the area.Compensation: $20.55/hr pre-probation, $22.14/hr post-probationWork Hours: Part-timePosition Summary: The Dining Room Coordinator ensures a high quality of the dining experience is consistently available to all tenants and guests of the community. Additionally, this position will take part in active servicing during meal times while taking on added responsibility for the dining areas. Leads delivery of flexible hospitality services in support of services goals.The following job responsibilities are essential for the success of this position.

  • Under the direction of the Hospitality Manager, the Dining Services Coordinator supervises and provides leadership for the dining services team.
  • Fosters and promotes new initiatives; implements policies and procedures; schedules and assigns work and monitors and evaluates service delivery.
  • Participate in the planning and prioritizing of both short term and long term service goals.
  • Coordinates all daily operations in the dining areas
  • Works Collaboratively with General Manager and Hospitality Manager to ensure excellent customer service during special events hosted by the Lakeside Manor Retirement Residence.
  • The Dining Services Coordinator collaborates with General Manager and Hospitality Manager to develop, reviseamp; evaluate hospitality service delivery within the dining area.
  • Obtains input from tenants and guests and disseminates information related to hospitality services and participates in Chef meetings to aid in improving dining services.
  • Responsible for the training, staff development, performance management and mentorship of all serving staff.
  • Directs staff during meal service and maintains service consistency while exceeding guest and tenant expectations.
  • Openness to change and ability to communicate new ideas to the dining service team effectively.
  • Demonstrates well developed problem solving and decision making skills with good judgement. Proven ability to work well under pressure, prioritize, adapt to changing needs, and multi-task effectively.
  • Champions hospitality quality improvement initiatives by conducting service audits, interpreting resultsamp; making recommendations for improvement to the General Manageramp; Hospitality Manager.
  • Actively serves in the dining room, wine bar, sports lounge, oversees the overall dining experience for the tenants and guests.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements/Certification Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years’ experience supervising in a fine dining and or full service retirement living environment preferred.
  • Serving it Right and FOODSAFE – level I certifications required.
  • First Aid Certificate an asset.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities/Experience Requirements:
  • Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in staffing and scheduling, training, education, staff development, performance management and mentorship of a serving team.
  • Demonstrates good judgement, problem solving and decision making skills.
