With Caring and Vitality as two of our core values at Lambton College, you know you’ll be joining a team of passionate and fun colleagues.Specific Accountabilities: a) Conduct and help with research activities including literature review, data analysis, and experimentation in collaboration with researchers and industry partners in the area of automation instrumentation and controlb) Support with engineering of various research projects with respect to instrumentation including: * design, * implementation, * installation, * calibration, * troubleshooting * documentation.c) Work with partners on developing automated systems and processes.d) Help with design, installation and implementation of below control systems and methods for various research projects. * advanced process control (APC), * distributed control systems (DCS), * programmable logic controllers (PLC), * automated robotics and A.I. algoritms * supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA).About the Position: This is a full-time support staff Bargaining Unit position reporting to the Associate Director, Research Operations working 35 hours per week at an hourly rate of $28.28.Qualifications: Three-year Instrumentation & Control Engineering Technology diploma, Visual basic interface programming.Software applications programming & troubleshooting. Computer Network & Troubleshooting for isolated systemsWorking knowledge of a selection of the following systems: Allen Bradley PLC, Triconex PLC, Honeywell Experion, SMAR Fieldbus, Emerson Delta V system.Well-developed analytical, problem-solving and evaluation skills required to troubleshoot, problem solve and provide analytical solutions to a wide variety of situations.Closing Statement: Lambton College is committed to an inclusive, barrier-free selection process.
