Our training programs are also a leader in the security industry, and they will help prepare you for advancements, as well as build your resume for a potential career in law enforcement.Position Overview:The job of a Paladin Security Guard serving Enbridge Gas is to provide such services that are required within established post orders or given by direct communication by their Manager. The Security Guard is to maintain a secure post and through due diligence offer protection to those on site and for the assets of the client.Essential Job Functions:Provide exceptional customer service.Check in visitors/contractors/Vendors.Enforce rules and policies and control access to the property.Write clear and comprehensive reports including daily guard and security incident reports.Utilize computers and various software including Microsoft Office, office 365 and preparatory programs.Foot and Mobile patrolKnowledge Skills and Abilities:Remain calm and effectively perform in emergency situations.Able to detect problems and hazards and follow up with writing reports.Able to follow and enforce safety protocols and procedures.Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and customer service focused.Able to handle confidential information with a high amount of discretion.Present a professional image to employees and public/customers.Able to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.Must be able to work unsupervised and with a partner.Moderate physical activity including standing, walking and stair climbing for extended periods of time.Requirements:Superior written and verbal communication skillsValid Ontario Security Guard License.Valid First Aid & CPR Level C Certificate.Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, professional demeanor, and deportment.Ability to solve problems, make decisions and respond to emergencies while working independently.Discretion when handling confidential and private information.Physical ability to stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time.Ability to pass a security clearance.High school diploma or equivalent.Working knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act and Mental Health ActDemonstrated punctuality and reliability, tact and diplomacy.Patrol assigned area on foot, as assigned, to ensure personal, building, and equipment security.Watch for and report irregularities by completing investigations and incident reports, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations; contact emergency responders, such as police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel, as required.Utilize two-way radio and computer applications for communicating site activities.Sustain effective relationships with key stakeholders and provide specialized security services by enforcing rules and regulations when required.Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.Security Guards are required to complete a Drug & Alcohol test for incidents that occur on client property.Highlights:Extensive Paid Industry TrainingEmployer Paid BenefitsOpportunities for Growth & AdvancementAt the time of the interview applicant must be able to produce proof of completion of the following prerequisites:Immunization RecordFull Covid VaccineA Valid Ontario Security Guard LicenseProficient in English (both oral and written)Vulnerable Sector Check may be requiredSuccessful completion of the following requirements provided by Paladin are mandatory prior to placement:First Aid & CPR “ Level CManagement of Aggressive BehaviorUse of ForceReport WritingAdditional courses as assignedUpon hire successful applicants will be required to complete the following Paladin online courses:Successful completion of Paladin™s online Customer ServiceSuccessful completion of Paladin™s online Patrol ProceduresSuccessful completion of Paladin™s online Diversity AwarenessSuccessful completion of Paladin™s online Finding The OHS ManualSuccessful completion of Paladin™s online Paladin OHS OrientationSuccessful completion of Paladin™s online Dealing with People with Mental IllnessSuccessful completion of Paladin™s online Workplace RespectSuccessful completion of Paladin™s online Slips, Trips and FallsAdditional courses as assigned.Should you have any questions on this process, please contact LeeAnne Feddes, People and Culture Coordinator atlfeddes@paladinsecurity.comQuick Apply
