Job Description

GardaWorld is currently looking for aSite Security Coordinatorto work at one of our clients location in Sarnia. You would be responsible for setting expectations for all security guards in accordance with Suncor and contractor standards for safety, professional conduct and ethics. Monitor and verify that security guards have the required knowledge of policies and procedures and that they have a clear understanding of the work. Develop and implement standards, programs and safe work practices for routine and emergency security activities, which have written approval by the Suncor Representative. Liaison between Suncor and GardaWorld s head office, local law enforcement, emergency services, and Transport Canada marine security officers.Site Security Coordinator will be responsible for the following sites:

  • Suncor Sarnia Refinery, 1900 River Road, Sarnia (Primary)
  • Suncor Oakville Terminal/Oakville Business Centre, 3275 Rebecca Street, Oakville, Ontario (Remote Support)
  • Suncor Oakville Terminal, 3412 Lakeshore Road, Ontario, Ontario (Remote Support)

What does a Site Security Coordinator in Sarnia do
  • Review and revise the Site marine security plan and advise Transport Canada of changes, which have prior written approval by Suncor Representative
  • Maintain logbook and escalate safety and security concerns to the Suncor Representative
  • Schedule security guards for appropriate site training
  • Complete high-level monthly stewardship reports to Suncor Representative
  • Ensure guard report are complete
  • Conduct high-level investigations and ensure complete documentation
  • Maintain GardaWorld Occupational Health and Safety program, conduct audits monthly/annually
  • Maintain site post orders, training records
  • Audit guard patrol, vehicle inspection and report data for quality
  • Prepare monthly Key Performance Indicator reports for client and GardaWorld
  • Provide remote support and oversight to Suncor Oakville Terminal/Oakville Business Centre & Dock site in Oakville, Ontario. Liaison with GardaWorld Oakville Team Leader.
  • Additional activities as required by GardaWorld or Suncor Representative
Qualifications to become a Site Security Coordinator in Sarnia
  • Valid security guard license and first aid card
  • Certified Security Officer / Certified Protection Officer certified or ability to attain within 6 months
  • 1 to 3 years experience in personnel management in a unionized environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Have a clean criminal record
  • Minimum G2-class driver s license with clean abstract
  • Valid IEC certification
