The Ministry fosters and supports a competitive business environment, facilitates trade and strengthens Saskatchewan’s international relations.The Ministry is seeking a highly motivated, efficient and well-organized professional for the role of Administrative Assistant in Saskatoon.The Administrative Assistant will provide support for the office that include a team of Deputy Directors, Specialists and Officers within the Economic Development and Officers across multiple divisions. The Assistant is responsible for a wide range of office administrative duties such as:

  • Reviews and prepares reports, briefing notes, correspondence and documents, and tracks approval processes;
  • Onboard new staff;
  • Assist the branch in analyzing, tracking metrics and reporting using a database;
  • Monitors, tracks and reconciles expenditures;
  • Purchases and monitors the inventory of office supplies, computer equipment and mobile devices; and
  • Coordinates travel and meetings.
What we’re looking for:To be successful in this role you will have:
  • Extensive knowledge of office management and administrative practices, procedures and protocols in a public sector setting;
  • Knowledge of Government structure, protocol and procedures including purchasing and payment practices;
  • The ability to review and accurately format a variety of documents (letters, briefing notes, reports, etc.) using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation in a timely manner;
  • Excellent computer skills in a variety of software programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Midas, Taleo);
  • The ability to communicate clearly, concisely and with confidence;
  • Be attentive to detail and have excellent organizational skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
