The magic happens when the on-farm data turns into actionable insights that directs the sales agronomists and farmers to adopt new agronomic approaches and products to help deliver more value to the farm. You will have ample opportunity to work alongside industry leading sales agronomists to develop local solutions that de-risk adoption of new agronomic practices and products. This role will allow you to exercise both sides of your brain with opportunities for analytical and methodical thinking as well as opportunities for creativity and imagination.You will build on the foundation of success from our proven on-farm sustainability approach tested in other North American markets, adapting the strategy to fit Canadian market conditions. This role will give you the chance to collaborate with internal teams and our ag-retail customers. You will use your influence and project management skills as you work with multiple stakeholders across a variety of projects.As a new position within WinField United Canada, you will have the opportunity to help shape the role. The projects promise to be exciting, challenging and varied!Key Job Responsibilities:Project Management:Lead project management process with the technical consultant and software development teams to design reports, KPI’s and insights from on-farm data points.Research, develop and educate ag-retailer sales agronomists on best management practices to improve sustainability outcomes with a focus on profitability for farmers.Collaborate with industry experts on emerging research on regenerative ag practices that reduce carbon intensity of crop production.Provide regular updates and timely communications to WinField United Canada leadership on project progress, including key milestones and budget.Ag-Retailer Engagement & Education:Drive awareness of emerging sustainability-based market opportunities for farmers and ag-retailers amongst WinField United Canada network.Develop engaging presentations and support materials.Develop and manage process to create and update technical, marketing, and sales materials to achieve strategic imperatives.Lead the training and on-boarding of ag-retailers and farmers data aggregation software.Explain insights report findings to ag-retailers and farmers, including adoption of best management practices to improve sustainability outcomes.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required.Qualifications:Required Qualifications:A university degree in agronomy, plant or soil sciences is required; advanced degree would be an asset.5 or more years of experience working in agronomy, ag-technology or technical marketing disciplines.Critical thinking skills to gather and integrate information, recognize and address underlying assumptions of others and arrive at effective solutions.Strong interpersonal and teaming skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate technical information in a way that is easily understood by those with little agronomic training.Track record of delivering results through strong project management and organizational planning skills.Responsive and adaptive, utilizing communication skills to deliver or exceed expectations.Demonstrates attention to detail and highly effective problem-solving skills.Develops others with a positive attitude, helping others grow their knowledge, skills and confidence in the area of agronomy.Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience in ag-technology or software development is an assetMinimum of 2 years’ experience supervising direct reportsLand O’Lakes and our global entities support diversity in employment practices.Neither Land O’Lakes, nor its affiliates or search firms, will ever contact you and ask for confidential information over the phone or in email.
