Potzus Paving & Road Maintenance Ltd. is looking for an experienced asphalt paving supervisor for the upcoming 2022 season.The Supervisor works in conjunction with the Paving superintendent directing and managing all onsite workers with Paving operations, subcontractors and equipment, enforcing the companys policies, procedures and safety standards, while meeting deadlines.The supervisor needs to be prompt, efficient, and a problem solver, to daily manage the scope of work and the professionalism to lead the employees that work under them.Experience with Paving Equipment, Paving Operations and Ministry of Highways work is a great benefit. Mechanical proficiency is required.Key Responsibilities -- Ensure materials and equipment are available and organized.- Organize and coordinate the daily activities of the crew, subcontractors and equipment.- Read and interpret project plans and specifications.- Lead and direct people, equipment and resources in the construction and paving of roads.- Promote, execute and adhere to the companys safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.- Administer and submit daily reporting.- Work with Human Resources on employee performance and discipline.- At times may be required to operate various paving equipment.- Ensure all equipment is up to date on servicing and repairs and communicating with Service Manager.Technical Skills -- Proficient in use of all equipment and tools related to asphalt paving, especially screeds.- Knowledge of road construction methods, materials and industry requirements.Working Conditions -- Travel as required.- Overtime as required.Potzus Paving & Road Maintenance Ltd. offers a competitive benefit package as well as an RRSP Program.
