Job Description

Each of our employees is committed to uphold our tradition of care, quality, and passion through food, and together, we foster an environment where we can all make contributions that matter–from our manufacturing plants to our office locations and everywhere in-between.Overview of the Role:As a casual member of the North End team you will be required to operate packaging machinery, sanitation process (CIP – cleaning in place) and manage silos, tanks, lines and hoses to produce a quality product. A casual employee may be scheduled for a range of hours of work. The shifts are 12 hours in length and are a mix of day shift and night shift. This Department operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week.How you will make contributions that matter:

  • Responsible for, and capable of, operating all equipment in the By-Products Department, including all related C.I.P. functions.
  • Participate in and take ownership of the success of the Department and the Team’s productivity.
  • Management of Silos, tanks, line and hoses to ensure product safety and quality
  • Maintain and complete all duties & tests required for HACCP including being a HACCP verifier.
  • Responsible for the sanitary and mechanical condition of all equipment.
  • Load out all relative products to company specifications
  • Other duties as assigned.
You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:
  • A desire to learn all aspects of the North End Department and bring initiatives to the team;
  • Mechanically inclined;
  • Physically able to perform all duties required;
  • Capable to do heavy lifting, up to 25kgs;
  • Able to work a multitude of 12-hour shifts, including day shifts and night shifts
  • Current knowledge of, or demonstrated ability to be trained, on operating and cleaning multiple pieces of processing equipment.

  • Promptly reports any unsafe working conditions;
  • Promptly reports all potential quality and food safety hazards to management;
  • Complies with all of Saputo’s food safety, quality programs, and regulatory requirements;
  • Demonstrates integrity in all business activities with employees, visitors and vendors;
  • Reliable and consistent attendance and available to work any shift, overtime or holidays as required; may be required to cover the absence of key personnel;
  • Performs other duties as required.
