Job Description

Centre Coordinator - CFBSJSPrimary Purpose: To support the development, implementation and management of the Centre for Forensic Behavioural Science and Justice Studies through the provision of excellent research, writing and management support.Nature of Work: Reporting to the Director, Centre for Forensic Behavioural Science and Justice Studies, and working with a variety of academic and external partners, this position works collaboratively to further the work of the Centre for Forensic Behavioural Science and Justice Studies. Work is highly complex, involving close collaboration, careful attention to detail and quality of work, and extensive research efforts. This position has a strong impact on the credibility and profile of the Centre for Forensic Behavioural Science and Justice Studies.Accountabilities:

  • Research and prepare a broad range of materials including strategic documents, reports, funding proposals and other correspondence, both independently and in combination with the Director and internal and external partners.
  • Manage and support the Centre for Forensic Behavioural Science and Justice Studies’ programs and events, such as internal grant programs, workshops and conferences, graduate programming.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Centre. This will include management of the office, responding to internal and external inquiries, and coordinating meetings, which includes minute-taking
  • Implement and administer decisions of the Director and Executive Committee.
  • Research, prepare and present annual and official reports to funding agencies by due dates.
  • Maintain, prepare and present financial reports and records.
QualificationsEducation: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline. A graduate degree is an asset. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Experience: Two to three years of directly related experience in a post-secondary, not-for-profit, or similarly complex environment.Skills: Exceptionally strong written, verbal, organizational, research and communication skills are required; demonstrated management and effective decision-making skills are essential; highly effective interpersonal skills, including diplomacy, creativity, self-motivation, reliability, tact, and the ability to work independently and effectively within a team environment are required. Understanding of contemporary issues in criminal justice or related fields, such as law and mental health, is an asset as is experience with the University of Saskatchewan or another post-secondary environment.
