Job Description

Tridon Communicaitons is growing and we are looking for a Radio Communications Technician to join our team for a permanent full time role working out of Edmonton. Relocation assistance may be provided for this role.About You : The ideal person will have a diploma in electronics or wireless communications engineering technology with hands on experience testing, installing, programming, and repairing wireless and electronic communication equipment and systems. You have good analytical, problem solving, trouble shooting and mechanical skills and have a can-do attitude, practice safety first and are not afraid of hard work.Must Haves:

  • 2 year diploma in communications, wireless technology or related field
  • 2 – 5 years of direct industry work experience
  • 4 year bachelor degree in a related field combined with related work experience will be considered
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 Operator’s License with a clean driving record within the last 5 years
  • Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing on a regular and frequent basis for access to site
Assets include:
  • Experience working with Motorola and Kenwood portable radio equipment
  • Basic diagnostic and radio programming
  • Experience working with conventional, trunking, and P25 radio repeater systems
  • Experience installing portable radio equipment into all forms of light duty and heavy duty vehicles
  • Electrical Wiring codes and best practices
  • Knowledge of hand and power tools, test equipment and design/fabrication techniques
