Job Description

Coordinator, Teaching and Learning Enhancement SupportsTeaching and Learning Enhancement provides support around major cross institutional strategic initiatives like experiential learning, peer review, Indigenization, and internationalization and TLSE initiatives to colleges, schools, departments, instructors and students and supports.Primary Purpose: The primary purpose of this role is to provide coordination, strategic and administrative supports, and project management for the Senior Director, Teaching and Learning Enhancement and the Teaching and Learning Enhancement portfolio and liaise with academic and support units on teaching and learning elements of major strategic projects.Nature of Work: Reporting to the Senior Director, Teaching and Learning Enhancement, the Coordinator is a main administrative contact for the TLE office and assists in prioritizing and coordinating issues and activities coming to the office. The coordinator provides administrative support to the Senior Director, supporting scheduling and anticipating support needs based on the Senior Director’s priorities and activities, and completes special projects as delegated. This position is responsible for researching and drafting reviews, briefing notes, presentations, and other operational and strategic documentation related to TLE projects. The coordinator is responsible for mapping and tracking deliverables across the varied projects of the TLE, identifying bottlenecks and anticipating issues whilst communicating with those involved to ensure timely progress and achievement of milestones. The coordinator is responsible for supporting the setting and assessment of outcomes related to strategic projects and services and creating and advancing reporting processes for the TLE portfolio. The coordinator is responsible for oversight and management of strategic funding processes and systems, including submissions, approval flows and tracking of progress and outcomes.This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with competing deadlines and multi-tasking as the norm. The ability to build trust and maintain positive relationships within and external to the TLE Office is critical for this role.Typical Duties or Accountabilities:

  • Work collaboratively with a wide variety of teaching and learning stakeholders to coordinate collaborative projects and track deliverables and evaluate outcomes. (40%)
  • Manages and supports special projects and events requiring coordination, research, and analysis (10%)
  • Prioritize, track, and organize workflows to support efficient, successful completion of project targets (10%)
  • Oversee administration processes for the Senior Director and in the TLE (10%)
  • Develop TLE project and communication materials and documents (10%)
  • Design and manage systems including (10%):
  • Manage technologies designed to facilitate communication, collaboration, and project flow (5%)
  • Works with the Senior Director, to identify, adopt, implement, and monitor best practices in teaching, learning and student service programs and initiatives (5%)
Education: A master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., administration, education, evaluation) and project management certification or a combination of equivalent education and experience is required. A PhD in a related field would be a strong asset.Experience:
  • Project management, communications or administrative experience is essential
  • Experience setting up and managing technical systems that allow groups of people to work together successfully
  • Experience working in a university environment or other large educational institution is an asset
  • Experience in project evaluation would be an asset
