Job Description

OUR COMPANY: Denison Mines Corp. (“Denison”) is a uranium exploration and development company with project interests in the Athabasca Basin region of northern Saskatchewan and office operations based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Denison is a public company listed on the NYSE American and TSX stock exchanges, and is also engaged in mine care and maintenance for decommissioned mine sites through its Closed Mines group based in Elliot Lake, Ontario. Denison’s flagship project is the Wheeler River Uranium Project (“The Project”), which is located approximately 35 km north-northeast of Cameco’s Key Lake Operation and 35 km southwest of Cameco’s McArthur River Operation in the eastern portion of the Athabasca Basin. The Project is accessible by vehicle and is located about 5 km west of Highway 914.The Project is the largest undeveloped uranium project in the eastern portion of the Athabasca Basin region in northern Saskatchewan, Canada. A Pre-Feasibility Study (“PFS”) was completed in accordance with NI 43-101 in September 2018 highlighting the selection of the in-situ recovery (“ISR”) mining method for the development of the high-grade Phoenix deposit. On September 22, 2021 Denison announced the initiation of the Feasibility Study (“FS”) for the Project. Concurrently, Denison is also advancing the environmental assessment (“EA”) process which is a critical step to securing the approvals necessary to develop and operate a mine in Canada.With the advancement of the ISR mining method, the Project has the potential to be one of the lowest-cost and most environmentally sustainable uranium mining operations in the world.THE ROLE: Reporting to the Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, the Corporate Social Responsibility Coordinator will be responsible for executing a comprehensive engagement program for Denison Mines and the Wheeler River Project, including shaping the future direction of such activities. The position will also play an important supporting role in the execution of various agreements. This position will also support the development of the Environment Impact Statement for the Wheeler River Project, where appropriate.This role will be based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and will require frequent travel to the project site located in the Athabasca Basin.The successful candidate will be required to follow Denisons health and safety policies and procedures, including the Covid-19 Work Safe plan, and the Company’s Covid-19 vaccination protocol. All current staff and any visitors who will attend at Denison’s offices, warehouses, field sites and operations are required to be vaccinated. New staff will be required to be fully vaccinated at their commencement of employment and/or prior to attending any facilities.All applicants must be eligible to work in Canada.   • Degree or diploma in the area(s) of corporate social responsibility, environment and / or sustainability, social science, sociology, business, resource development, law or other relevant programs
  • Knowledge of the importance of reconciliation in Canada in relation to resource extraction companies
  • Direct experience working with northern Saskatchewan / Indigenous communities
  • Experience with the development of communication / engagement materials to support engagement activities for resource extraction projects mining operations; experience in northern Saskatchewan considered an asset
  • Working knowledge and experience with the implementation of agreements and / or contractual obligations
  • Practical problem-solving skills in researching and resolving community issues and opportunities with the ability to develop creative solution

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of technical staff
  • Willing to travel to communities within the northern Saskatchewan Administrative District

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of engagement activities in support of the Wheeler River Project and other activities, where appropriate
  • Establish appropriate protocols and processes to ensure that Denison is meeting and exceeding standards regarding agreements
  • Support the development and implementation of a Reconciliation Action Plan
  • Work directly with communities on community investment strategies
  • Preparatory support work for the Project and Environmental Assessment regulatory meetings
  • Conduct research on best practices related to agreements between Indigenous communities and industry, contributing to overall policy development and work
  • Maintain and manage budgets for engagement and agreement activities
  • Support for Project licensing plan including required management plans for each Project phase
  • Prepare reports for engagement
  • Establish mechanisms for capturing appropriate CSR data for reporting to executive management
  • Other duties as assigned.
