Job Description

Duties and responsibilities:At SaskAbilities, we treat people with respect, compassion, and honesty. We value teamwork, excellence, and innovation. The successful candidate will deliver crisis prevention and support strategies for individuals with intellectual disabilities, who exhibit on-going severe challenging behaviors. Support includes: education, prevention, development of comprehensive behavior support plans and training for service providers to support individuals in their current residential/day program setting. This Saskatoon position reports to the Yorkton Branch-Behavior Supports Senior Supervisor.Duties include:

  • Receive client referrals and respond within 24 hours
  • Write Positive Behavioral Support Programs that include formal behavioral interventions, development of hypotheses and intervention strategies to mitigate dangerous and harmful behaviors.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with a variety of people within the client’s network and care
  • Service Delivery shift hours vary as well as extensive travel, as required
Qualifications:Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services and/or 4 years of experience utilizing Applied Behavioral Analysis principles and techniques
  • Valid First Aid/CPR/AED Certification or willingness to obtain
  • Valid Driver’s Licence and a reliable vehicle
Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years post-academic supervised practice in the delivery of behavioral or clinical services
Skills:
  • Demonstrated decision making ability in dealing with crisis, strong organizational and time management skills and ability to cope effectively with stress and diversity
  • Ability to work independently or as a member of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal, public relations, written and oral communication, and proficient computer skills
